Senatskandidat Augustus Sol Invictus erkänner att han offrade getter

Augustus Sol Invictus är namnet på en 32-åring i Florida som kampanjar för att försöka vinna Marco Rubios efterlämnade senatsplats. Han kandiderar som libertarian, vilket onekligen är en politisk belastning i sig. Därtill är han "satanist", och efterföljare till Alister Crowleys Thelema-religion.

Han har även erkänt att han offrat en get, och druckit dess blod, och han tillstår att hans icke-kristna tro kan innebära politiska karriärsproblem:

"I did sacrifice a goat. I know that's probably a quibble in the mind of most Americans," he said. "I sacrificed an animal to the god of the wilderness ... Yes, I drank the goat's blood."

Fox skriver vidare:

The Libertarian longshot acknowledges that being a pagan will hurt him with an electorate that tends to support Christians. But he said he is running with the hope of speaking on the Senate floor.
