Goda nyheter för Pawlenty - mindre goda för Gingrich

Sonny Perdue - fd guvernör i Georiga - och med-ordförande för Gingrich nationella kampanj har hoppat av och bytt sida till Tim Pawlenty. Perdue säger om Pawlenty:

"Tim Pawlenty is a great man, he was a phenomenal governor, and he is the person I now believe stands the greatest chance of defeating President Obama. He is the only candidate who has laid out a real plan to grow the American economy, and his track record in Minnesota is proof he's the right man for the job."

Därtill har Tim Pawlenty också fått ett endorsement av ingen mindre än kongressman Joe Wilson (som blev känd när han i Representanthuset ropade "You lie!" till president Obama). Wilson förklarade att Pawlenty var -

"the best man to get our nation back on the right track," one with "a remarkable record of conservative accomplishments in a politically tough state for Republicans, and someone who has the kind of bold vision for America’s future that we need to defeat Barack Obama."

Goda nyheter för Pawlenty således - men Newt Gingrich förklarade via Facebook att han inte tänker ge upp, och skrev:

I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring. The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles.
