Newt Gingrich avslutade idag då till slut sin presidentkampanj. Här är hans avslutningstal där Gingrich förklarar varför han nu stöder Romney. Under primärvalet menade han att han själv var den republikan mest lik Reagan - medan Romney var en moderat republikan från Massachusetts. Nu, förklarar Gingrich, handlar det dock inte om Mitt Romney och Ronald Reagan utan om något helt annat:

"This is a choice between Mitt Romney and the most radical leftist president in history."

Romney-kampanjen, som nu är måna om att läka relationen mellan de två släppte följande meddelande efter Gingrichs avhopp:
