Blagojevich blir värd för The Late Night Show

Tro det eller ej, men Illinois tidigare guvernör Rod Blagojevich ska få leda ett program av The Late Night Show. Eller nästan i alla fall. Han ska få leda en 40-minuters nätvariant av programmet, "The Late Net Show" - som varje vecka kommer att ha olika kändisvärdar att leda programmet. En av dessa är dock Rod Blagojevich.

Chicago Sun-Times skriver:

"The 40-minute online talk show, entitled “The Late Net Show,” will be taped before a live studio audience in Manhattan next month and aired at 11 p.m. on either Feb. 11 or 18.

“We’re in talks with Donald Trump, Alec Baldwin and Floyd Mayweather to be guests on the show, according to Charlie Oliver, founder of the Web site artoftalk.tv, which will run the show.

The show will have a different celebrity host each week and the band will match the hosts’ styles — possibly Elvis impersonators for Blago, said Oliver.

“We look forward to seeing him step out of his comfort zone as the first host of the “Late Net Show,” said Oliver, who added that Blago has expressed interest in doing additional episodes.

“He is super excited about this. I guess it appeals to his sensibilities and desire to talk to people and engage,” said Oliver.

Programmet kommer bl a att innehålla “Blago’s Book Club”, ett bordssamtal om heta ämnen, och tittare kommer också att få möjlighet att påverka programmets innehåll online, genom att välja om de vill se Blagojevich sjunga en Elvis-sång, citera en dikt eller filmmonolog, eller bara ge ett tips om vad som helst.

Det måste sägas att det i bokstavlig bemärkelse vore mycket tråkigt - inte minst för den här bloggens skull - om Blagojevich tvingas avsluta sin påbörjade stjärnkarriär bakom galler. Någon av tittarna på programmet kanske kan ringa in och ge honom några goda råd på hur han bäst bör lägga upp sitt framtida rättegångsförsvar.
