Chris Christie på fundraiser-event i Florida

Chris Christie är i Florida för att delta på ett antal fundraiser-events i egenskap av ordförande för the Republican Governors Association. Eventen var bokade långt innan skandalen i New Jersey bröt ut men skandalen kastar givetvis ändå sin skugga över besöket och Christie och Floridas guvernör Rick Scott möttes inte offentligt, trots att insamlings-eventen hålls till guvernör Scotts egen förmån. Chris Chrisite undvek media när han åkte iväg, men demokraternas ordförande Debbie Wasserman Shultz tog istället hon tillfället i akt och sa om situationen:

“It’s a little bizarre that Rick Scott would bring the chair of the Republican Governors Association -- something that arguably he should be proud of in a normal situation -- and not brag about it, not show him off, not spend some time in front of the cameras, take some photo-ops and take some questions. Well there’s a reason for that,” she continued. And it’s probably both that RS doesn’t want to be seen standing next to Chris Christie. And Chris Christie doesn’t want to be answering any uncomfortable questions.”

Även några medarbetare till Mitt Romneys kampanjteam 2012 passade på att kritisera Christie, men Mitt Romney själv försvarade Christie.
