Washington D.C:s vapenförbud upphävs av domstol

En federal domare upphävde i lördags Washington D.C:s totalförbud mot vapen utanför hemmet eftersom han menade att ett sådant förbud stred mot konstitutionen. Domaren Frederick Scullin Jr, skrev:

“there is no longer any basis on which this court can conclude that the District of Columbia's total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny.”

Vapenaktivister hyllar beslutet och räds inte kampen som följer efter de överklaganden av domslutet som med stor sannolikhet kommer att göras.

“We won,” sa Alan Gura, huvudadvokat för Second Amendment Foundation, till Fox News. “I’m very pleased with the decision that the city can’t forbid the exercise of a fundamental constitutional right."
