Livstid för Times Square-bombaren

30-årige Faisal Shahzad - den sk Times Square-bombaren som i maj försökte spränga en sportbil på ett folkfyllt Times Square i New York med en hemmagjord bomb - dömdes igår till livstids fängelse av en federal domstol på Manhattan. När domen lästes upp var det en nitisk tilltalad som svarade:

“Brace yourselves, because the war with Muslims has just begun.” Och han fortsatte sedan: “The defeat of the U.S. is imminent and will happen in the near future.”

Domare Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum svarade:

“You are a young man, and you will have a lot of time to reflect about what you have said today, and what you have done.”
