Senatorerna John McCain och Jeff Flake pratar immigrationsreform

Senatorerna John McCain och Jeff Flake höll idag ett town-hall-möte till förmån för immigrationsrefromen i Mesa, i hemstaten Arizona. John McCain sa bland annat:

“It is not a perfect piece of legislation, nor have I ever seen a perfect piece of legislation,” McCain said. “But I do believe this is a compromise, in some cases, that all of us can support and also believe fervently it can achieve the goals we set out: a secure border, a path to citizenship and a treatment of an issue that is not going away.”

Senator Flake sa också att förslaget som Representanthuset har att rösta om gör mycket för att säkra gränsen mot Mexiko (något republikanerna, men också otaliga gränsinvånare anser vara av högsta vikt):

“I think you have to say certain things for domestic emphasis, but on border security, this bill does a lot, and I think they’ll recognize that,”
