Obama-familjen tänder den nationella julgranen

Obama-familjen följde presidenttraditionen sedan president Calvin Coolidge 1923, och tände igårkväll den nationella julgranen. Obama talade också och sa att julens historia var kristen men en tradition som kommit att representera mer än en enskild religion:

"It represents a tradition that we celebrate as a country — a tradition that has come to represent more than any one holiday or religion, but a season of brotherhood and generosity to our fellow citizens,"
