Chuck Schumer tar ton mot Obama

Den demokratiske New York-senatorn Chuck Schumer har tagit ton mot Obama efter det att Obama förklarat att han faktiskt inte har uteslutit att hålla 9/11-rättegångarna i New York, trots att detta kommer att kosta skattebetalarna 1 miljard dollar under en femårsperiod. Chuck Schumer hade dock ett tydligt budskap till presidenten och sa till en grupp reportrar:

"My advice to the President is, with a great deal of respect, take New York off your radar screen. Find another location."

The most logical place," tillade han, "is in some isolated military base that is completely far away from population centers and is self-contained."

Justitieminister Eric Holder som ursprungligen fattade beslutet att hålla åtalen på Manhattan har gett förslag på fyra andra ställen, också i New York, där rättegångarna eventuellt alternativt skulle kunna hållas. Men Schumer diskvalificerade dem med:

"I told him that I was familiar with all four and none of them would work,"
