Obama talar om ekonomin och arbetslösheten

USA:s arbetslöshet har stigit till 9,5% nu i juni, vilket är nästan dubbelt så mycket som juni förra året. Det har fått Republikaner att kritisera Obamas politik.
Representanthusets Republikanska minoritetsledare John Boehner sa om siffrorna:

“It’s time for Democrats to admit that more spending, more taxes, and more reckless borrowing isn’t ‘change´. That’s the same failed formula that has cost Americans their jobs in the past, and it’s costing them their jobs once again.”

Och det Republikanska partiets ordförande Michael Steele tog tillfället i akt att kritisera Obamas stimulanspaket och sa:

“June’s unemployment report shows a job loss of 467,000 and proves that the stimulus package is not a ‘Recovery Act”. With the unemployment rate now at 9.5% and continuing to rise, Americans need real solutions that help them find work – not bigger government, higher taxes, increased federal spending and an unsustainable national debt.”

President Obama höll dock idag ett tal där han förklarade att det kommer att ta tid för ekonomin att återhämta sig, och att problemen byggdes upp under flera år, och att det kommer att ta mer än några månader att återställa ekonomin:
