Vice-president Dick Cheney intervjuades idag på CBS News program "Face the Nation", där han fortsätter att tala ut om sin syn på saker och ting. Bland annat säger han att i ett val mellan Rush Limbaughs syn på det Republikanska partiet, och Colin Powells, så ställer han sig på Limbaughs sida. Min syn på saken är att desto mer Dick Cheney pratar, desto vettigare framstår han. Han är saklig och konsekvent - en egenskap som börjar bli unik inom det Republikanska partiet. Om Dick Cheney deltagit mer aktivt i samhällsdebatten under sin tid som vice-president, på det sätt han nu gör, så hade allmänheten haft en bättre bild av både honom och Bush-administrationen.
En av kommentarerna till intervjun nedan tycks instämma och skriver så här:
"Vice President Cheney has been one of the smartest people in federal government for over 30 years. Come on, the man started serving his country beginning in the FORD ADMINISTRATION FOR GOODNESS SAKES! He has been serving the interests of this nation since before our inexperienced Community-Organizer-in-Chief was shaving. If a public servant of his experience and background tells me that pouring a little water on the type of people who fly planes into NY skyscrapers and cut the heads off of Americans with large kitchen knives kept Americans safe for the last 8 years, that's all I need to know. Thanks for keeping me and my family safe from those loons, Dick, and please don't stray too far from the phone. Sure, it would be great if everyone around the world loved us, it rained gumdrops, and unicorns left ice cream patties on the ground, but I'm afraid we're going to be in sore need of the type of mature thinking and leadership that you and President Bush displayedo before the BO and Company circus leaves town."
